Villa Etna, Sicily
Etna, Sicily, Italy
An Antonio Lupi project in Sicily — a villa on the slopes of Etna, across three levels in stone, wood and glass.
This work was not designed or delivered by Design Avenue. It is published here in our role as Antonio Lupi's representative in Georgia.

This is an Antonio Lupi project. Design Avenue did not work on it — we publish it because we represent Antonio Lupi in Georgia.
The villa
A single-family villa on the slopes of Etna, in Sicily. The architect is Antonio Iraci, of Iraci architects.
The house runs lengthwise and sits discreetly in the landscape because of its low height, despite covering three levels. One of them is underground.
Stone marks out the projecting horizontal bands of the façades, wood closes the solid walls, and glass brings the surrounding greenery inside. An internal patio interrupts the sequence of rooms and ties the house to its garden.
What the architects describe as the real instrument of the design is the Sicilian light itself, which draws different perspectives through the rooms by day and again at sunset.
The bathrooms
At the centre of the principal bathroom stands the Dune freestanding bathtub, designed by Mario Ferrarini, with a direct view out.
The 024 and Fonte washbasins by gumdesign are set against wallpaper from the Tralerighe collection, in blacks and whites. The Specchi di Carta mirrors are by the same studio.
The shower systems are Meteo3C, Azimut and Tag, together with Zenit.
The storage systems
Carlo Colombo's Bespoke and BeMade systems furnish several rooms of the house. Mirrored doors lighten the volumes and open up the perspectives.
Built into the walls are Dimezzo and Framezzo by AL Studio. Carpets from the Tramato collection complete the rooms.
The wellness area
The house's wellness area holds an indoor swimming pool.
